Membership Dues
Your membership dues are used to award scholarships to the top 4th year male, 4th female, 6th
form male and 6th form female students at DTHS and are given at the Graduation ceromonies each year. We have
given awards to deserving students since 2003. Membership dues are also used to offset expenses incurred in the everyday
running of the Chapter. These expenses are also subsidized with personal contributions from all the Florida Chapter
Excutive Committee members. We welcome contributions of supplies, etc.
Health and Welfare Program
The Florida Chapter has pledged to fund a Health and Welfare Program at the school (US$1,000.00 annualy first donated in
2007). The contributions are sent to the school to help the most needy students with paying for lunch, transportation,
uniform and exam fees.
Trust Fund
The Trust Fund was set up 10 years ago and although funds have
already been disbursed to help the school, it is yet to reach the target of J$10,000.000.00, at which point the earnings will
be distributed to various programs at the school. The Florida Chapter has been contributing over J$125,000.00 annually
since 2004.
Linstead Hospital Project
This project was established in 2007 after visits by several
Florida Chapter past students to the hospital. Because of the proximity to DTHS, it was decided that we, the Florida Chapter
alumni, would try to make a difference. So far, the Florida Chapter has donated over 200 sets of hospital bed linen (US$2,400.00),
bathroom and shower supplies and other sundry items. This is an ongoing project and we welcome your contributions.
